Sameer Takes It Down

We arrived at the table to see Indian Sameer Rattonsey all in for his tournament life on a flop of {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. We’re not sure how the pot had ballooned so quickly, but Rattonsey was all in for 54,500 following a bet of 16,200 from an early position player, and a third player was deep in the tank.

The player eventually folded, but the early position player called with {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for the overpair as Rattonsey showed {6-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair and flush draw. Meanwhile the tanker was beside himself as he claimed to have folded pocket aces.

That didn’t matter when the {8-Spades} appeared on the turn to complete Rattonsey’s flush. He didn’t want to see anymore spades though, and the {9-Clubs} river was nice and safe for the double up.
