Carter Gill and Jacky Wang have been dancing a pas de deux today at a table near the front of the room. The river brought a check from Wang and a bet of 7,000 from Gill.
"Soul read Carter one time?" Wang mused aloud. He stared intently at the board and at Gill for about a minute before tossing 7,000 into the pot. Gill silently turned over , an airball. Wang showed for a pair of treys and the winner.
"Nice hand," said Gill.
"Figured it was the right time for it, right?" Wang asked. Uncharacteristically, Gill had no response.
