$1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Opening Event

A Bad Case of the Gao-ut!

Stefan Jedlicka opened for 21,000 from middle position and received a call from Tony Delavinias. Jie Gao then woke up with an all-in three-bet from the big blind, which Jedlicka four-bet. Delavinias gave up his hand, showing {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, a decision that would prove very wise.

Gao: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Jedlicka: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

It was a race situation for Gao's life, but not so much after the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, which gave Jedlicka trips and a hammerlock on the hand. The {9-Spades} turn gave Gao a gut-shot straight draw, but the {10-Spades} river was no help. As you can see, Delavinias would have made trips on the river, which could have proved quite costly had the hand played out a bit different.

Gao is out while Jedlicka is up to 450K.
