$25,000 No-Limit Hold'em Semi-Shootout

Smith Finds Aces

That's pretty nice to begin with, but he also managed to double up. Smith got his last 25,400 chips into the middle pre flop against Kurganov, and we witnessed the following showdown.

Elliot Smith{A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Igor Kurganov{A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs} giving Smith the double up. Kurganov is now the short stack at Table 29.

Two Draws, Let's Go!

Jonathan Karamalikis

On a {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop Dan Kelly checked from the small blind to Karmalikis who was in the big. The Aussie bet 6,700 and Kelly decided to check-raise to 16,000 from his 51,000 stack. Karamalikis pushed all-in and Kelly called immediately.

Dan Kelly{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

Both players had the same draw and the turn, {3-Diamonds}, and river, {K-Hearts}, didn't change the outcome of the hand. The play so far has been agressive and this trend seems to be continuing as the final table is in sight.

Kurganov Takes One Down

Roberto Romanello raised under the gun to 2,100 and Igor Kurganov three-bet to 5,000 from the cut-off. The action got folded to the initial raiser who made the call.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Romanello check-called 5,100. On the river the {Q-Diamonds} hit and Romanello checked again. Kurganov counted out a 13,200 bet and that got his opponent to fold.
