After one player limped in from middle position, Jason Mercier raised to 725 from the hijack seat. Action folded back around the table to the limper and he made the call to take a flop out of position against arguably the best player in the world.
After the dealer spread the flop, the first player checked. Mercier opted to take things slow and checked behind to see the land on the turn. The first player checked again. This time, Mercier gave no more free cards and bet 1,150. His opponent made the quick call and then checked the river card. Mercier bet 3,300 and his opponent quickly mucked.
