€25,000 High Roller

Smith Doubles Through Vedes

Dan Smith has had one heck of a week here at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final. He won the turbo €5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for €161,650 and then took down the regular €5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event for €250,500, both within the span of a week. To make things a bit better, he just doubled up to 125,000 in the €25,000 High Roller.

On the {J-Hearts}{Ts]{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board, Tommy Vedes check-raised Smith's bet of 7,600 to 20,500. Smith reraised all in for 54,300 and Vedes made the call. Smith held the nuts with the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and Vedes two pair holding the {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The river didn't give Vedes a boat after the {Q-Diamonds} fell and Smith earned the double up. Vedes was crushed back to 120,000 in chips.
